This two-day Construction Industry Safety and Health Training is intended for entry level workers in the construction industry and personnel in public works or public/ private sector facilities and maintenance. It emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention. Training is based on various topics in OSHA’s 1926 Construction Industry Standard. Course requirements are set by OSHA’s Directorate of Training and Education (DTE).

TNEC tailors the mix of topics presented to the needs
of the course participants. TNEC trainers utilize the
Small Group Activity Method of training to help class
participants better understand and retain the content
of the training.

The curriculum includes:

  • six hours of Mandatory Topics (Intro to OSHA, Focus
    Four (falls, struck-by, caught-in/between, electrical),
    personal protective and lifesaving equipment, and
    health hazards in construction)
  • two hours of Elective Topics (such as stairways/
    ladders, hand/power tools, excavation, scaffolding,
    materials handling, etc.)
  • two hours of Optional Topics (other construction
    hazards/policies or expanding on mandatory or
    elective topics).
