Disaster Preparedness for Organizations
This no-cost, 3-hour virtual Zoom course is focused on decreasing the risk of worker injury and illness in responding to disasters such as storms and floods. Participants work in small groups to practice how to assess and control hazards during a storm response, and to plan next steps in their own work settings in preparing for disasters as well as responding in mutual aid to other communities.
The curriculum includes: assessing plans that you have in place for your organization, family, etc.; overview of Go Bags and House Kit; safety, physical and biological hazard considerations when mobilizing and responding to natural disaster events; establishing safe work areas and safe work practices; and, selection and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
